On Saturday, February 3rd at 8am, Healthier Jupiter partnered with Dr. Keith Cini, a Licensed Acupuncture Physician and Doctor of Oriental Medicine/Holistic Physician. Dr. Keith Cini has over 30 years of experience in healing and the martial arts. He offers classes and integrated therapies for whole body health at his center Agape Healing Arts Health & Wellness Center.
Our group of 20 community members met at the Amphitheater at Harbourside what brought everyone out for the walk. We learned we had students from FAU Honors College who were there to learn how Tai Chi is related to mathematics. Then Dr. Keith explained to us the practice of Tai Chi and its benefits to our health and well-being. Tai Chi is a Mind-Body exercise that has many benefits. Even in this small practice we learned how Tai Chi can effectively improve balance, heart health, strength and reduce stress.
Then we moved over to the lawn seating area of the Amphitheater to practice Tai Chi moves right in front of the beautiful intercoastal waterway. Dr. Keith led us in a warm up exercise to ground ourselves and be ready to practice Tai Chi. Then we did a 15 minutes Tai Chi practice where he broke down the most common moves into simple steps. For more information about Tai Chi classes you can visit Dr. Cini’s website: Agape Healing Arts.
We followed this relaxing Tai Chi practice with a walk along the Riverwalk – starting at the Amphitheater then walking to the dock areas. Along the way we chatted with new friends, and caught beautiful glimpses of the Intercoastal Waterway.
Healthier Jupiter’s Walk & Talks are free, regular events to promote physical activity and community. These recreationally paced walks combine learning, socializing and exercise. We partner with local educational/cultural/inspirational organizations to provide a more social experience while participating in light exercise. All ages and physical activity levels are welcome to participate. For future Walk & Talks stay tuned to our website: healthierjupiter.org.
